Peter was the only 2nd Suffolk man to die that day, it appears he may have died of illness as the battalion were around Enquin-les-Mines undergoing training from mid September to mid October. The Highland Casualty Clearing Station was based in Aire, closer to the front line than Enquin-les-Mines.
