Charles Oliver Edward Fitzroy was born on 13th July 1923 at Euston Hall (Thetford Q3-1923 4B:528), 2nd son of Lord Charles Alfred Euston FITZROY J.P., D.L., (10th Duke of Grafton) and the Duchess of Grafton, Doreen Maria Josepha Sydney(née BUXTON). Brother of Hugh FITZROY, 11th Duke of Grafton.

His mother died in 1923 and his father married Lucy Eleanor BARNES in 1924. When she died in 1943, his father married Rita Emily CARR_ELLISON in 1944
Educated at Eton College. At probate his address was Euston Hall.

In the 1939 register his father [4-6-1892], a land owner/farmer, was at Euston Hall and mother Lucy [25-12-1897] ( a J.P.). Also there was Anne E.Fitzroy [10-11-1859] and many servants. There appears to be 2 closed family records.





Charles Fitzroy is buried in Bayeux War Cemetery, grave 8:B:18
initially buried in Neuville, he was moved, with four other Grenadier Guards, to Bayeux in May 1945
