Donald Edward MORGAN, was born in Claydon, Suffolk on 20th August 1916 (4th qtr 1916 Bosmere 4a:1796], son of master butcher Wilfred Edward Mozart MORGAN [6-12-1878] and Mary Brewer MORGAN [26-7-1878] (née ANDREWS). They were at East Villa, Claydon for the 1939 register ( 3 closed records).
Donald was then a clerk for a food supplier. He married Mary Lowman WILDE in Stafford in 1941



On 28th August 1942, Vickers Wellington Mk III, ser.no. BJ710, sqn.id. KO-L, of 115 Squadron, took off at 20:38 from RAF Marham, Norfolk, on a mission to Kassel, and failed to return.

For this mission, the crew was:-
Pilot -F/O Walter Allen A SKELTON (RAFVR)
Observer - F/Sgt Wilfred GRAHAM
W/Op/Air Gunner - Sgt John BINGHAM (RAFVR)
W/Op/Air Gunner - F/Sgt Donald Edward MORGAN (RAFVR)
Air Gunner - F/Sgt James W MIDDLETON (RAF)

They were shot down and only Sgt James W Middleton survived, to be captured and see out the war as a prisoner of war. The other four men were initially buried in Dusseldorf Nord Friedhof, they were re-interred in Reichwald on 3rd December 1946.
