Martha Annie BRADNAM (née CORNELL). 1891 census...Aged 1, he was in Withersfield with his father William BRADNAM [42] farm labourer; his mother Martha [39]; brothers Frederick [10] and Herbert [5]; sister Emma [8]. All were born in Withersfield. 1901 census...Aged 11, he was at Queens Street, Withersfield with his parents (father now stockman); sisters Emma and Blanche [8] born Withersfield; brother Herbert (yard boy on farm). He enlisted in Haverhill.
Since he died of his wounds it is impossible, without his service records, to say where or when he was wounded. He died in No 46 Casualty Clearing Station, at Mendinghem,near Poperinge, Belgium. His medal index card is mis-spelt as Bradman, as it is also on "Soldiers Died" and on the pension card..
