The war memorial in on the village green within the junction of Water Lane. Apparently of limestone which is deteriorating, a Celtic cross atop a hexagonal
column on a hexagonal plinth. Unveiled in December 1921, that is the currently all that is known of the memorial.
The dedication on the east face of the plinth reads:- GLORY OF GOD AND IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918 * * * * * * Then going counter clockwise, the names, inscribed in upper case, give the forename and surname and under that the battalion and regiment. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
