Beck Row war memorial now stands on a grassed area at the corner of The Street with Lamble Close. It was originally installed near the Methodist Church further along The Street. Built by Messrs H.G.Neville and Son, and unveiled on 3rd July 1919 by Sergeant A.Mothersole M.M. It was moved to its present position in 1995, the names from 1939-1945 were added and it was re-dedicated on 12th August 1995 Then polished granite panels were let into the plinths in 2001 to replace the various inscriptions which had become very badly eroded. It was rededicated on 11th November 2001 There are notes about it in the Bury and Norwich Post of 11th July 1916. It takes the form of a tapered stone obelisk above a four stepped graduated plinth, all standing on a square paved area. It is surrounded by four chain linked bollards.
